Supporting the fight against Obstetric Fistula
Working in partnership with organisations to treat women following complications of pregnancy and labour.
About this project

There is an incredible need to support the work of organisations in Congo helping women to recover from the complications of obstetric fistula. Obstetric fistula most commonly occurs among women who live in low-resource countries, who give birth without access to medical help. If a woman’s labor becomes obstructed, she could remain in excruciating pain for days before her baby is finally dislodged. Her baby likely dies and she is often left with an obstetric fistula, a small hole created by constant pressure from the foetus, which renders her incontinent.

In this campaign we aim to raise enough money to pay for 10 operations to reverse the fistula and restore the women who have developed complications due to incontinence. We know that for every 1 woman treated at least 50 more go without. So in the next 12 months we aim to raise more funds to try and support this noble cause. Kindly donate to support us in working with those organisations involved in helping women in DR Congo.
